The Power of Words on Rice

Research on the Power of Words

I began researching the power of words years ago and ran across the experiments completed by Dr. Masaru Emoto. I was fascinated by his pictures of ice crystals showing how the molecular structure of water changes from outside stimuli, specifically music and positive or negative words. (for more information on Dr. Emoto, visit www.masaru-emoto.net/english/water-crystal.html)

Words on Cooked Rice

In another experiment, Dr. Emoto placed portions of water-cooked rice into two containers. On one container he wrote “thank you” and on the other “you fool.” He instructed school children to say the labels on the jars aloud twice per day. After 30 days, the cooked rice receiving positive thoughts stayed white and fluffy, while the other became rotten and moldy. Since our bodies are made up mostly of water, we are equally susceptible to physical changes from the energy and intention of our thoughts and words.

My own experiment

I performed a similar experiment with white rice. I cooked white rice in a pan and then evenly divided the rice between two separate jars. On one jar, I placed negative destructive words like, “loser,” “idiot,” “failure,” and “stupid.” On the other jar, I placed words that are on our inspirational apparel including “strength,” “courage,” “dedication,” and “blessed.” Within the first 20 days, the rice in the jar with the negative words taped to the outside started to turn brown and formed small growths of mold. The rice in the jar with the inspirational power words on it looked just like the day I cooked it. The rice in the “positive” jar stayed white and mold-free for months while the “negative” jar looked worse as time passed. I believe the jar with positive words preserved the rice, and the negative words caused the other rice to mold.

Wear Your Power Words

Words are the seeds of creation and words define who you will become. What do you want to create and who do you want to become? You get to decide, and you get to pick the power words to help fuel your motivation to succeed.
